Aged Care
The Bankstown Division provides support to General Practitioners and allied health professionals to enhancing access to services and improve the quality of care for residents of Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs).
The Division works closely with RACFs, GPs, allied health professionals and the Sydney South West Area Health Service (SSWAHS) to improve access to aged care services.
Current initiatives include:
- Development of care pathways for local older people with chronic conditions
- Providing residents of RACFs with access to psychological support to assist with issues of grief, loss and depression (via the Aged Care Access Initiative of the Commonwealth Dept Health and Ageing).
- Providing local GPs and health workers with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities regarding GP management of chronic conditions.
